About ME

Hey y’all! I’m Cassie. I am a born and raised Floridian, and currently live in North Florida with my husband, Mark, and our two dogs, Kona (Australian Cattle Dog) and Jax (German Shorthaired Pointer). I enjoy gardening, long trips to antique stores, and sunshine!

I work a typical 9-5, but in my off-time, I also own a baking company with my Mother-in-Law, Jenny, called JC Bakesmith’s. We specialize in nostalgic and delicious homestyle favorite desserts and treats.

And when I wasn’t busy with all of the above, I was taking care of my Mom, Cori. She suffered from many different things. From kidney disease, involving 2 kidney transplants, and in line for a 3rd, to lupus, which resulted in multiple joint replacements, and most recently she suffered severely from calciphylaxis. She went home to God on 2/26/2023. My goal with this blog is to share some of my experiences, and maybe act as a comfort to someone going through something similar. And also, to share the most amazing woman I have ever known with you!
